What is Vaginal pH — And Why Does it Matter?

The vaginal environment maintains a mildly acidic pH between 4.5 and 5.2. This is not arbitrary — it is the body's primary natural defence mechanism against bacterial and fungal overgrowth. The acidity inhibits pathogens while supporting the Lactobacillus bacteria that are central to vaginal health.

Most conventional sanitary pads are pH-neutral or slightly alkaline. When worn for hours against vaginal tissue, they can gradually shift the local pH, creating conditions that favour bacterial vaginosis, yeast infections, and irritation. This is a design failure — and most brands have never addressed it.

How Mi Bliss Solves It

The fluid-locking layer (Layer 5) in Mi Bliss incorporates a combination of biopolymers formulated to create a buffering matrix. This matrix fine-tunes the surface pH of the pad during use — maintaining a range compatible with healthy vaginal acidity throughout wear.
